Honest savings, not “free appliance” pricing tricks

Spend & Save exists because a lot of “free appliance” deals are not really free.
Some retailers build the appliance cost into the kitchen price, then only offer the cheapest model, with no flexibility.

Laker Kitchens does it differently.
We use our trade discounts to fund your appliance allowance, and the rest comes from our profit. That’s why the appliance allowance is based on your spend excluding VAT, because VAT goes to HMRC.

And here’s the important bit:
When your appliances are part of Spend & Save, we also cover the VAT on those appliances, so your VAT stays consistent on your kitchen invoice, with the appliance allowance treated as part of the promotion.

Spend & Save tiers (examples only)

These are example appliances to show what your allowance could look like. You can choose different brands and models within your allowance.

£6,000 to £12,000 kitchen spend (excluding VAT)

  • £6,000+: Tap allowance up to £200 (example: Grohe)
  • £7,000+: Sink allowance up to £200 (example: Rocklite)
  • £8,000+: Hood allowance up to £300 (example: Elica)
  • £9,000+: Hob allowance up to £300 (example: Bosch)
  • £10,000+: Dishwasher allowance up to £350 (example: Smeg)
  • £11,000+: Fridge freezer allowance up to £500 (example: AEG)
  • £12,000+: Oven allowance up to £700 (example: Neff Slide & Hide)

Example total at £12,000 kitchen spend:

  • Kitchen subtotal: £12,000
  • VAT (20%): £2,400
  • Total: £14,400
  • Example appliance allowance value: £2,250, with VAT covered on the allowance items

Premium upgrades (examples)

  • £14,000+: Combi oven microwave allowance up to £750 (example: Neff)
  • £16,000+: Built-in wine cooler allowance up to £800 (example: CDA)
  • £18,000+: Built-in coffee machine allowance up to £1,900 (example: CDA)

Example total at £18,000 kitchen spend:

  • Kitchen subtotal: £18,000
  • VAT (20%): £3,600
  • Total: £21,600

  • Example appliance allowance value: £6,000, with VAT covered on the allowance items

Spend how you like

Once you unlock allowances (tap, sink, hood etc), you can combine and redirect them to the appliances you care about most.

Example:
If you unlock £200 tap + £200 sink + £300 hood, that’s £700 you could instead put towards a higher-spec oven, a better hob, or any appliance you prioritise.

Why we created Spend & Save

After 15 years as a kitchen fitter, Keith moved into kitchen sales and design. He consistently ranked top for customer results, but saw the same problem again and again:

  • limited door styles and colours
  • no real bespoke flexibility
  • “free appliances” that were locked to the cheapest models
  • no option to pay a little extra to upgrade

Laker Kitchens was built to offer bespoke door sizes, any paint colour from major paint manufacturers, and a fairer way to help people afford the kitchen they actually want.

And in a world of rising costs, Spend & Save is designed to help you keep control of your budget without compromising the kitchen.

What’s included in your kitchen spend

Spend & Save applies to the items you purchase from Laker Kitchens that make up your kitchen package, including:

  • Base cabinets, wall cabinets, tall cabinets
  • Doors and drawer fronts
  • Handles
  • End panels and trims (cornice, pelmet, plinths)
  • Pull-outs and internal storage upgrades
  • Worktops: laminate, solid wood, glass, quartz, porcelain, granite

What’s not included

  • Kitchen furniture installation
  • Worktop templating and fitting
  • Appliance fitting
  • Gas and electrical works (carried out by fully qualified, insured professionals)

FAQs

Yes. We’ll work with you to match the brands and model numbers you want within your allowance.

You can upgrade. If your selected appliances exceed your allowance, you pay the difference, plus VAT on the overspend.

No. Spend & Save is for the kitchen package and appliance allowance only. Installation and trades are quoted separately.

Yes. It can be withdrawn any time before contracts are signed and dated by both parties.

Appliances are arranged after your kitchen delivery is checked and confirmed in good order, then timed sensibly so they are not arriving too early during rip-out and install.

Yes. For higher spend projects (for example £60,000 to £100,000+), premium packages such as Gaggenau and Sub-Zero can be available.

Full Spend & Save Terms and Conditions

  • Free Appliances are based on your total kitchen spend, excluding VAT @ 20% With your Free Appliances, we (Laker Kitchens) will also pay the vat on these, so your vat remains the same, and is added to everything on your kitchen invoice, with the exemption of your appliances, that are part of the Spend & Save Only.

Items you purchase from Laker Kitchens, that make up your total new kitchen package spend, and work with your Free Appliances are as follows:

  • Base Cabinets
  • Wall Cabinets
  • Tall Cabinets
  • Doors/Drawer Fronts
  • Cabinet Handels
  • Tall/Base/Wall End Panels and all trims i.e. Cornice-Pelmet Plinths
  • And all Cabinet Pull-Outs.
  • Work Tops: Laminate – Solid Wood –  Glass – Quartz – Porcelain – Granite

  • With each of our Clients, we will work with you to try and get the Manufacturers and Appliance Model Numbers you are looking for, within your total spend allowance, and this will be determined with your total kitchen spend, with all the above items you have purchased from Laker Kitchens.

  • Kitchen Furniture Installation costs, are not included in the Spend & Save, or is any other fitting work. i.e. Fitting of Kitchen Cabinets, Worktop and Worktop Templating and all Appliances. All Gas and Electrical works carried out, as all these said items are carried out by fully qualified professionals, all with Liability Insurance.

  • Spend and Save can be withdrawn at any time, before any order contracts have been signed and dated by ourselves (Laker Kitchens) and yourselves the Client

  • Ecommerce Only: Ecommerce new for 2026. Appliance Packages cannot be changed, to a certain Appliance Manufacturer and Appliance Model Number. These packages have been made up to offer the best value for the end user, and to get all 7 main items for a working kitchen: Oven, Hob, Hood, Dishwasher, Fridge/Freezer, Sink and Tap

  • If you want Higher Brand Named Appliances, or your Spend and Save does not cover the total cost of the appliances you want, and/or you buy items outside of what we call the main 7 items for a working kitchen, like i.e. American Fridge/Freezer etc, you the Client will pay Laker Kitchens the over spend on these appliances, and include the vat @ 20% on the total amount of your over spend. 
     
  • Once your new kitchen has been delivered to you the client, Laker Kitchens and/or our kitchen fitter/fitters, will unpack all cabinets, doors, panels and trims, to make sure there is no damage to these items. If you the client are installing the kitchen yourself, or you have your own kitchen fitter to install everything, then you the Client or your Kitchen Fitter/Fitters must also check for any damages to all of the above items listed. If you do have any damages, a picture must be taken of the packaging the item was wrapped in to keep it in good order, and picture of the damage on this item. We Laker Kitchens have 48 hours to notify the manufacturer of any damaged item, for a quick and free replacement. The 48 hours start from time of delivery to you. If there are no damages, then we now ask you the client to sign our Laker Kitchens acknowledgement of goods received in good order.

  • Once we receive your signed form of your contentment of all goods received, we will now arrange any of your Free Appliances, with our Spend & Save promotion for delivery to you the client, we will also arrange delivery at the same time, for any appliances you have paid for in part or in full, including vat @ 20% that has gone over your free appliance spend. We at Laker Kitchens are doing this for two reasons.  
  • (1) Protect ourselves at Laker Kitchens
  • (2) No fitting team will want appliances too early, with taking your old kitchen out, and all your new kitchen on site, the last thing we or you will need, is having all your appliances being delivered on the same day as your new kitchen. Take my word on that! from previously being a kitchen fitter myself for 15 years. 

  • Clients spending £60,000 to £100,000 plus, on a New Kitchen, can have FREE Gaggenau and Sub Zero Appliance packages, with Laker Kitchens Spend & Save.
